Short answer: Tinting a pickup at our Lewisville shop costs $399 with Autobahn Black, $499 with Autobahn Ceramic, and $649 with either 3M Ceramic IR or Autobahn Ceramic i3. A windshield is extra: $180 to $350. A truck with i3 on every window and the windshield comes to $999. Removing old tint first adds $50 to $250.

A pickup has a different set of glass than a car: a large rear window, often a sliding center pane, and on many trims rear glass that is already dark from the factory. All of that affects what you should buy, even though the price is simple. Here’s what it costs, what changes the price, and what to ask for.
Truck Window Tint Prices
| Film | Pickup (sides + rear) | Windshield | Both |
| Autobahn Black | $399 | $180 | $579 |
| Autobahn Ceramic | $499 | $250 (Black Ceramic) | $749 |
| 3M Ceramic IR | $649 | $350 | $999 |
| Autobahn Ceramic i3 | $649 | $350 | $999 |
Prices for every body style, including cars and SUVs, are on our window tint prices page.
Why i3 Costs Less on a Truck Than on an SUV
Look at the top film: Autobahn Ceramic i3 is $649 on a pickup and $699 on an SUV. A crew cab has front doors, rear doors and a back window. A full-size SUV adds cargo-area side glass and a liftgate window. For the other three films, pickups and SUVs are the same price.
The other thing the list shows: on a pickup, i3 and 3M Ceramic IR are both $649. If you’ve already decided on a top-tier ceramic for your truck, price isn’t the tiebreaker. Here’s how the two films compare: Autobahn i3 vs 3M Ceramic IR.
What Changes the Cost of Tinting a Truck
- The film. $399 to $649 on the same truck, a $250 spread.
- The windshield. $180 to $350, if you add it.
- Old tint. Faded or bubbling film has to come off first: $50 to $250 depending on the truck and the film.
- Which windows. Just the front doors, to match factory rear glass, isn’t on our list. Ask us for a price for your truck.
- Cab size. A regular cab, extended cab and crew cab have different amounts of glass. Tell us the cab when you ask for a quote.
The general cost factors for any vehicle are covered in window tint cost in Lewisville.
Factory Privacy Glass: What Your Truck Already Has
Many trucks, especially upper trims, come with dark rear glass from the factory. That’s pigment in the glass. It looks like tint, but it isn’t heat-rejecting film, so the cab can still get hot behind it. That leaves truck owners with two common choices:
- Front doors only, matched as close as possible to the factory rear glass. Matching the front film to the factory shade is the main challenge on these jobs.
- Every window, including film over the factory privacy glass, to add heat rejection behind the driver. We explain how that works in tint over factory privacy glass.

Which Film for a Truck?
Autobahn publishes total solar energy rejection (TSER) for each film line, measured on the darkest shade. Here’s how that lines up with pickup prices:
| Film | Heat rejected (TSER) | Pickup price | Good fit for |
| Autobahn Black | up to 43% | $399 | Looks, privacy and glare on a budget |
| Autobahn Black Ceramic | up to 63% | $499 | Daily trucks that sit in the sun |
| Autobahn Ceramic i3 | up to 71% | $649 | Long hours in the cab, work trucks, dark interiors |
| 3M Ceramic IR | 95% infrared (3M’s rating) | $649 | Drivers who prefer 3M |
A pickup has a big, nearly upright back window right behind your head, and a lot of dash under the windshield. Those are the places where ceramic film earns its extra $100 to $250 over Autobahn Black. Rear Sliders, Cab Sizes and Other Truck Details
- Rear slider: many trucks have a sliding center pane in the back window. The film has to be cut so the slider still opens and closes cleanly. We cover it on the Ford F-150 window tint page.
- Cab size: on a Ram 1500, for example, a Quad Cab and a Crew Cab are different jobs.
- Tundra and Tacoma: the glass areas differ a lot between the two, so we don’t treat Toyota trucks as one job. Details are in Tundra and Tacoma window tint.
- Chevy and GMC: matching the front film to the factory rear tint is the usual question on a Silverado.

How Dark Can You Tint a Truck in Texas?
The same rules apply to trucks and cars, straight from Texas Transportation Code Sec. 547.613:
- Front side windows: at least 25% light transmission, with no more than 25% reflectance.
- Rear side windows: any darkness.
- Back window: any darkness, as long as the truck has an outside mirror on each side, which pickups have.
- Windshield: a strip at the top only; the details are in windshield tint law in Texas.
In practice that means a lighter shade on the front doors and whatever you like behind them. Autobahn’s Ceramic i3, for example, comes in seven shades from 5% to 70%; its 33%, 40%, 56% and 70% shades all clear the 25% front-window rule. The full breakdown of the percentages is in our Texas tint law guide, and what each number looks like is in window tint percentages explained.
Why Tint a Truck at All
- UV: every Autobahn film we sell blocks over 99% of UV, which protects your skin on long drives and keeps the dash and seats from fading and cracking.
- Heat: up to 71% of the sun’s total heat rejected with Autobahn Ceramic i3 at its darkest shade.
- Glare: less squinting into the sun on east-west commutes.
- Privacy: tools and gear in the back seat are harder to see. More in the best tint for privacy.
