Full Ceramic Coating on a GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate in Lewisville

Short answer: This GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate got a full ceramic coating at our Lewisville shop: paint, windshield, wheels and interior. The paint is on our Ceramic Pro Advanced Coat package (Ceramic Pro 9H plus Top Coat, 5-year warranty), which starts at $1,499 for an over-size truck. The wheels and interior were coated as add-ons.

This truck is a GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate with the 6.2L V8, and the owner wanted it fully protected, not just the hood. It came into Kingdom Window Tint in Lewisville for the full treatment: ceramic coating on every painted panel, the windshield, the wheels, and the interior.

Below is exactly what we did, what it costs, what the coating will and won’t do, and how to keep it working in North Texas.

What Did Full Ceramic Coating Cover on This Sierra Denali?

Full ceramic coating on this truck covered four areas: the paint, the windshield, the wheels and the interior. Each surface gets a coating made for that material instead of one product wiped over everything.

  • Paint: 1 layer of Ceramic Pro 9H with a layer of Ceramic Pro Top Coat over it. That is our Advanced Coat package.
  • Wheels: Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper. The Denali Ultimate’s machined, multi-spoke wheels collect brake dust in every gap, and a coated wheel releases it with a rinse instead of a scrub.
  • Glass: Ceramic Pro Glass on the windshield so rain beads and sheds at speed.
  • Interior: a Ceramic Pro interior coating add-on to help the cabin resist staining and daily wear.

Why Coat a Denali Ultimate in the First Place?

A truck this size has a lot of flat, horizontal paint, and that is where Texas sun, hard-water spots and bird droppings do their damage. The hood and roof of a full-size Sierra sit flat to the sun all day in a Lewisville parking lot.

The Denali Ultimate also carries a lot of gloss-black trim and chrome up front. Gloss black shows every wash scratch, so cutting the friction of each wash is one of the biggest long-term wins. A coating doesn’t make the truck scratch-proof, but it means less rubbing to get it clean, and that rubbing is where most swirl marks come from.

Our Ceramic Coating Process, Step by Step

Most of the work on a ceramic coating job is preparation. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint has to be decontaminated and polished before any coating goes on. This is the Advanced Coat sequence this truck went through at our shop:

  1. Gentle hand wash to remove loose dirt without adding scratches.
  2. Clay bar decontamination to pull embedded contamination out of the clear coat.
  3. Iron remover to dissolve brake dust and rail-dust particles bonded to the paint.
  4. Digital paint inspection to measure the paint before polishing.
  5. Stage 1 polish and gloss enhancement to refine the finish before it is sealed in.
  6. Exterior glass cleaning, paint sanitation and trim masking so the coating bonds to bare, clean surfaces.
  7. Coating: 1 layer of Ceramic Pro 9H and 1 layer of Top Coat on the paint, and Ceramic Pro Glass on the windshield.
  8. Add-ons: Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper on the wheels and the interior coating.

All of this happens indoors at our shop on SH-121. We don’t do mobile service, and that matters for coatings: dust or pollen that lands on wet coating in a driveway gets sealed in.

The Towel Test: What a Fresh Coating Feels Like

After curing, we laid a microfiber towel on the hood and let go. On a properly coated surface, the towel slides off by itself, even on a gentle slope.

That slickness is the whole point of the coating. Dirt, pollen and bug residue have less to grip, and your wash mitt glides instead of dragging grit across the paint.

What Ceramic Coating Won’t Do

Ceramic coating will not stop rock chips. It is a thin, hard layer that improves gloss, makes the surface easier to clean, and resists chemical staining, but a rock from a gravel truck on SH-121 or I-35E will still chip the paint underneath.

If chips are your concern, the answer is paint protection film (PPF) on the front end. Many owners combine the two, with PPF on the bumper, hood and fenders and ceramic coating everywhere else. Ceramic coating also doesn’t make a truck maintenance-free. It makes washing faster and safer, but you still have to wash it.

How to Care for a Ceramic Coated Truck in North Texas

  • Hand wash with a pH-neutral soap. Harsh, high-alkaline cleaners wear a coating down faster.
  • Skip brush-type automatic car washes. The brushes cause the swirl marks the coating is there to help you avoid.
  • Dry the truck instead of letting it air dry in the sun. North Texas tap water is mineral-heavy, and spots left to bake on a dark or flat panel are the most common complaint we hear.
  • Remove bird droppings and bug residue quickly. The coating buys you time, but not forever in summer heat.

FAQ

How much does ceramic coating cost for a truck in Lewisville?

Can you ceramic coat the interior and wheels too?

Yes. Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper and interior coatings (Ceramic Pro Leather and Textile) are add-ons to any package. This Sierra Denali Ultimate had wheels and interior added to the Advanced Coat.

The Advanced Coat carries a 5-year warranty. If you want lifetime coverage, the Ultimate Coat adds 4 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H, coating on plastics and wheels, and infrared curing.
