Short answer: At our Lewisville shop, ceramic window tint costs $360 to $699 for a full vehicle, depending on the film and the body style. Our non-ceramic film, Autobahn Black, starts at $269. Windshield tint is $180 to $350, and removing old tint is $50 to $250. These are the same prices we quote at the counter; the full list is below.

Plenty of tint shops only quote over the phone. We publish ours so you can compare before you call. Every price on this page comes straight from our window tint service page, and every heat number comes from the film maker’s published specs, so you can check both.
Window Tint Prices: The Full List
| Film | Coupe | Sedan | Pickup | SUV |
| Autobahn Black | $269 | $299 | $399 | $399 |
| Autobahn Ceramic | $360 | $449 | $499 | $499 |
| 3M Ceramic IR | $499 | $599 | $649 | $649 |
| Autobahn Ceramic i3 | $549 | $649 | $649 | $699 |
Prices cover the side windows and the rear glass. The windshield is priced separately (below). Autobahn i3+, the top film in the Autobahn line, is quoted per vehicle.
How Much Does Ceramic Tint Cost?
Three of our four films are ceramic: Autobahn Ceramic, 3M Ceramic IR and Autobahn Ceramic i3. The useful question isn’t just the price, it’s what you pay on top of the entry film:
| Upgrade over Autobahn Black | Coupe | Sedan | Pickup | SUV |
| to Autobahn Ceramic | +$91 | +$150 | +$100 | +$100 |
| to 3M Ceramic IR | +$230 | +$300 | +$250 | +$250 |
| to Autobahn Ceramic i3 | +$280 | +$350 | +$250 | +$300 |
Two things stand out when you lay it out this way:
- On a pickup, i3 costs the same as 3M Ceramic IR ($649 for both). If you drive a truck, the choice between them is about the film, not the money.
- The first ceramic step is the cheapest one. Going from Autobahn Black to Autobahn Ceramic costs $91 to $150.
What You Get for the Money: Heat Rejection by Film
Price only means something next to performance. Autobahn publishes total solar energy rejection (TSER), the share of the sun’s total heat a film keeps out, for each film line. These are their figures for the darkest shade of each line:
| Film | Heat rejected (TSER) | UV blocked | Sedan price |
| Autobahn Black | up to 43% | over 99% | $299 |
| Autobahn Black Ceramic | up to 63% | over 99% | $449 |
| Autobahn Ceramic i3 | up to 71% | over 99% | $649 |
| Autobahn i3+ | up to 74% | over 99% | quoted |
Lighter shades reject less heat; Autobahn’s i3, for example, goes from 71% at its 5% shade to 50% at its lightest. 3M rates its Ceramic IR film by infrared rejection instead (95%), which is a different measurement, so it isn’t in this table. We explain why TSER is the number to compare in TSER explained, and we put the two brands side by side in Autobahn i3 vs 3M Ceramic IR.
Types of Window Tint, and the Ones We Sell
When you compare prices between shops, make sure you’re comparing the same kind of film. There are four common types:
- Dyed film: the cheapest kind. It darkens the glass but does little against heat, and the color can fade over time.
- Metalized film: uses metal particles to reflect heat. It can interfere with phone, GPS and radio signals, and it looks shiny.
- Carbon film: a matte, non-metal film with better heat rejection than dyed film.
- Ceramic film: uses non-metal ceramic particles to block heat without needing to be dark and without signal interference.
We don’t sell dyed, metalized or carbon film. Our list is Autobahn Black as the entry option and three ceramic films above it. So a much lower quote somewhere else may not be for the same kind of film. If you’re weighing the cheapest option, read ceramic vs dyed window tint first.
Windshield Tint Prices
| Windshield film | Price |
| Autobahn Black | $180 |
| Autobahn Black Ceramic | $250 |
| 3M Ceramic IR | $350 |
| Autobahn Ceramic i3 | $350 |
Before you add a windshield, read what Texas law allows on that glass: can you tint your front windshield in Texas.
Tint Removal Prices
If your car already has old film, it has to come off before new film goes on. Removal costs $50 to $250, depending on the vehicle and the condition of the old film. Purple, bubbling or peeling film that’s been on for years takes the most time, especially on the rear glass with defroster lines. More on that in car window tint removal.
What Moves the Price
- The film. This is the biggest factor: from $269 to $699 on the same car.
- The body style. Coupe, sedan, pickup or SUV, as in the table above.
- The windshield. $180 to $350 on top, if you want it.
- Old tint. $50 to $250 to remove it first.
- Fewer windows. Just the front two, to match factory privacy glass, isn’t on our list; ask us for a quote.
A longer look at each of these, and at why the cheapest tint usually isn’t the cheapest in the end, is in window tint cost in Lewisville.
What These Prices Look Like on Real Cars
Two recent SUVs from our shop got the same tint package: Autobahn Ceramic i3 on every window plus i3 on the windshield, $699 + $350 = $1,049. One was the white Lexus NX in the photo above, the other a black Toyota RAV4. Both owners also had the paint ceramic coated on the same visit.

For a sedan, going from $299 to $449 gets you into ceramic. For pickups, the price list and the truck-specific questions (factory privacy glass, rear sliders, crew cabs) are on our cost to tint truck windows page. Tesla, BMW and Mercedes owners can find model-specific notes in Tesla Model Y tint and BMW and Mercedes tint.
What Every Price Includes
- Installation by a certified installer. We’re certified by both Autobahn and 3M, and every person on our team is certified, not just the shop.
- A nationwide lifetime warranty on Autobahn films, 100% hassle-free. It isn’t tied to our shop; see how the warranty works.
- Two to three hours in the shop for most cars.
- Windows down right away. You can roll them down as soon as you leave; most shops ask you to wait 2–5 days.
Is Ceramic Tint Worth the Extra Money?
For most North Texas drivers, the first ceramic step is: $100 to $150 more than Autobahn Black on most cars, for a big jump in heat rejection (Autobahn rates Black at up to 43% and Black Ceramic at up to 63%). Whether the top tier is worth it depends on how much time you spend in the car and where you park. We work through it with real numbers in is the Autobahn i3 upgrade worth it and in the best window tint for Texas heat.
